      Thermal power generation is the main way to produce power in China and many countries in the world. More than 50% of China's annual power output is produced in a way of thermal generation, including oil, coal, natural gas etc. By virtue of its high power stability, thermal power provides the strong power guarantee for the society and is important for promoting the construction of efficient and intelligent power systems. With the deepening of the electricity market-oriented reform and increase in fluctuating renewable energy, thermal power will gradually transform from the main electricity supply to fundamental power supply, providing reliable power and ability to regulate load peak and frequency. In the construction field of thermal power projects, TBEA gives full play to its advantages in the advanced power transmission and distribution technology, and is actively involved in the overall planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and other business of thermal power units. TBEA has planned and constructed Dushanbe No. 2 Thermal Power Plant (Tajikistan), Renovation Project of Bishkek Thermal Power Plant (Kyrgyzstan), Xinjiang Zhundong Wucaiwan 2×660MW Power Plant (China), Tianchi Energy ? Changji 2×350MW Thermal Power Plant and other key projects. TBEA, meanwhile, independently researched and developed and designed transformers, HV/ML/ LV switches, HV/ML/ LV wires and cables, and other standalone products covering subcritical, supercritical and ultra supercritical thermal power unit projects, and provide the related products and services for Pingwei Power Plant in Anhui, Togtoh Power Plant in Inner Mongolia, Suizhong Power Plant in Liaoning, Pengcheng Power Plant in Jiangsu, Laizhou Power Plant in Shandong, Nantong Power Plant in Jiangsu, and other national key projects. TBEA has provided main transformer products for more than 30% of large thermal power projects of million kilowatts in China.

  •  Phase 1 of this project was put into trial production in September 2014. After the completion of Phase 2, the Plant's total installed capacity will reach 400MW, annual output 2,200,000,000 KVH, and heating ability 985.61GJ/H with heating area of 4,300,000 ㎡. To protect the local environment in Tajikistan, TBEA used the world's currently most advanced technological and environmental protection concept for systematic design. This project involved cogeneration units of 2×50MW and 2×150MW, a limestone-gypsum wet type flue gas desulfurization project which was built synchronously with the main engineering, the most advanced electric-bag composite dust removal technology, and the most advanced low-nitrogen combustion technology for boilers. Various indexes reach the international leading level. For example, the dust concentration is ≤30mg/Nm2, SO2 concentration is ≤200mg/Nm2, and NOx emission concentration is ≤400mg/Nm2 at outlet of dust collectors. At the same time, TBEA elaborately arranged 60 employee students from Tajikistan to participate in theoretical training, simulation learning, and practice in power plant, and also cultivated nearly 1,000 own power talents for Tajikistan. For this important project promoting the economic development and benefiting the people's livelihood in Tajikistan, the leaders of the two countries attached high attention. In September 2014, Chairman Xi Jinping, together with Tajikistan President Emomali Rakhmon, attended the ceremony for completion and ignition of Phase 1 project and also the commencement of Phase 2 project in Dushanbe No. 2 Thermal Power Plant during his state visit to Tajikistan. Chairman Xi Jinping indicated that Dushanbe No. 2 Thermal Power Plant was the landmark project of the practical cooperation between China and Tajikistan, and also a symbol of friendship between the citizens of two countries. President Emomali Rakhmon praised that Dushanbe No. 2 Thermal Power Plant could improve Tajikistan's self-supporting ability of energy, and was a model of the high-level cooperation between Tajikistan and China.
  • On September 11, 2013, in Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit held in Kyrgyzstan, TBEA signed a contract for Renovation Project of Bishkek 2×150MW Thermal Power Plant, which is the largest renovation project for thermal power plants in Kyrgyzstan, under the joint witness of Xi Jinping, President of China and Atambayev, President of Kyrgyzstan. Based on the characteristics of lignite produced locally, TBEA designed and adopted the positive pressure direct blowing pulverizing system with the primary cooling fan for medium-speed coal mills, the limestone-gypsum wet type desulphurization process, with the expected desulphurization efficiency of more than 85% and effective optimization of operation cost; five-partition electrostatic dust collectors for dust removal of flue gas, with the dust removal efficiency of ≥99.6%; the fixed ash and slag removal and hydraulic transmission for the ash and slag removal system, with the emission load of atmospheric pollutants in line with international standard limits. After its completion, the project will meet the growing need for power in Bishkek and its northern areas, fulfilling the development needs for the heating system of Bishkek, effectively solving the problem of insufficient heating in winter, improving the overall heating ability of Kyrgyzstan, makeing for balancing the power grid structure concentrating on hydro power in Kyrgyzstan, and ensuring the stability of its power supply.
  • Invested by TBEA, 2×350MW Self-owned Power Plant of Xinte Energy Co., Ltd. was completed and put into operation in 2013. As an experimental unit for projects supported by National Key Science and Technology Support Program, launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology, this project was designed according to high energy saving, high water saving, high environmental protection, and high standards, creating multiple No. 1 records in Xinjiang. The project integrated several combustion technologies which was the most advanced ones in the world. It included the first generation unit with super-low coal consumption and the first one with synchronously constructed desulfurization and denitration facilities in Xinjiang, adopting the low nitrogen combustion plus post-furnace denitration, and other advanced technology. It replaced traditional water cooling with direct air cooling, which can save 80% of water consumption and employed high-efficiency double-chamber four-partition electrostatic de-dusters, with the efficiency of up to 99.6%. It also used the new type full-combustion furnace for high-alkali coal, with the independent innovation design, for the first time, effectively overcoming the worldwide difficulties such as low melting point, high coking, easy fouling with high-alkali coal, achieving efficient combustion of high-alkali coal, and playing a significant role in popularization and application of high-alkali coal and economic development.
